Last week’s prompt to hold hands and really feel the connection of human touch evoked a beautiful post from Cee that is linked below. Cee talks about how we use touch as a method of healing and told of a special story between her and her partner Chris.
Hands have special meaning to me too. I remember watching my mother’s hands holding my father’s as he passed out of this world. I wanted to take a picture, but thought it would be crass and later regretted not doing that. A few years later when my mother passed I held her hand and I did take a picture, which I now treasure.
It’s not all morose, because death is a part of life. And connecting in simple ways even in those difficult times brings much joy.
This week’s happiness prompt and affirmation requires just you! I hope it brings you a few minutes of joy and happiness as you focus on yourself and the happiness within. I encourage you to write down how you feel as you complete these prompts.
Here’s the prompt for this week:
The Happiness Project is
my way of sprinkling happiness like fairy dust so that we can shift our perspective towards a happier more joyful life. Each Tuesday I will give you a prompt and an affirmation for the week. Use these to guide you towards a joyful life filled with gratitude and happiness. Think of it as your own gratitude journal.
Once in a while we’ll do a check-in to see how your happiness is improving.

Last week:
Margie from https://backroadsandotherstories.com tried accessing my post, which I had happily scheduled, but did not check on due to a busy schedule. Lo and behold there was a problem with it. And thanks to Margie’s email I was able to correct my faux pas around 2am the following day.
Thank you Margie!
Wynne Leon the beautiful soul from Surprised by Joy, https://wynneleon.com spends time every Saturday holding hands with her little son. Childhood affection is so spontaneous and sweet, which turns these beautiful moments into special memories for us moms.
Cee Neuner from https://ceenphotography.com/ wrote a beautiful post about the healing power in our hands. You must read it here https://ceenphotography.com/2023/05/26/hands-that-heal-happiness-project/
I hope you found some moments of happiness last week when you enjoyed a few minutes of connection each day.
This week I wish you plenty of happiness and hope you feel the joy of stillness, because it is in stillness that we surrender to the universe and find ourselves within.

Oh, this is a hard one for me, Alegria. I spent at least 10 minutes a day alone meditating which is some form of nothing but a little more intentioned than I think you mean. But I’ll keep trying to work up to it. 🙂

The fact that you take time to meditate daily is all part of the same intentional journey. Thanks for sharing Wynne, and always spreading the happiness. 💕🌸

This is such a good reminder to find peace, not only in action, but also in inaction. Thank you!
