Happiness Project Week 15

If you’re reading this on your phone, then wait to finish reading this before following this week’s prompt. 🙂

This week’s prompt is all about alleviating the distractions in life. Our phones are an enormous distraction and these distractions prevent us from moving towards joy. This week I hope you’ll take some time to quell the distractions so you can experience a few minutes of peace and happiness.

Here’s the prompt for this week:

The Happiness Project is

my way of sprinkling happiness like fairy dust so that we can shift our perspective towards a happier more joyful life. Each Tuesday I will give you a prompt and an affirmation for the week. Use these to guide yourself towards a joyful life filled with gratitude and happiness. Think of it as your own gratitude journal.

Once in a while we’ll do a check-in to see how your happiness is improving, so keep slowly moving towards happiness.

Last week:

Susan Hart from https://hartinspirations.com/ said, “it happens I was taking a taxi home recently, and I had bought a large bouquet of flowers to give for a gift. The flower lady had given me a “yapa” (Spanish for “bonus)”. I could have kept this for my personal flower, but, the taxi driver (male) looked like he needed a lift. So as I was getting out, I handed him the flower. I received a big smile. 🙂”

A llapa, yapa, or napa (depending on which Spanish country you are in) is a lovely gift. A little surprise given by the shopkeeper in hopes that you will return to the shop. Kind of like a baker’s dozen. And it always brings a smile, laughter, and plenty of muchas gracias.

Marvelous Margie from https://backroadsandotherstories.com promised to follow the prompt from last week, and was thankful for the weekly Happiness Project. Love the feedback. Thanks Margie!

Wynne Leon the beautiful soul from Surprised by Joy, https://wynneleon.com and a happiness community regular said, “I love the focus on giving! It’s so true that giving really helps lift us up as well. This week my daughter and I made a mosaic tile for a friend who just had to say good-bye to their beloved dog. It doesn’t work as a replacement I know but we hope it’ll be a beautiful reminder of their special relationship!”

It is most certainly a happy reminder. Though I completely missed your message Wynne. Apologies. I’ll reply soon.

Meanwhile Jan is happily sunning herself in Jamaica! https://accordingto.me/

I hope you found some moments of happiness last week in a random act of giving.

This week, I wish you some beautiful moments of slow intentional happiness as you continue to celebrate the joy of stillness and the process of managing the many distractions we have in our lives.

Now you can put your phone away. 🙂
