The Tuesday after Labour Day always feels like an ending and a beginning for me. Do you feel the same?
There’s something special about this day. The return to school means the end of summer and there is a great feeling of circularity. Every ending promises a new beginning, right? The new year offers a similar feeling, but this feels a little different, perhaps due to seasonal transitions.
This is the end of Lemonade Days as well. Although I was not present here very often, I did follow through on my promise to post every weekday on Instagram. And it was a beautiful thing. Stirring up the sweetness, while acknowledging the existence of the sour. And I wrote a lot of poetry.
In light of that and summer creativity, I created an e-journal for you to celebrate Lemonade Days and as a reminder that we must keep stirring up the sweetness, because joy is a form of rebellion.
This involves some worthy soul work, and is my gift to you. You’ll find thought provoking questions, some poetry, and areas for your own reflections. You can download it here, absolutely free, and can unsubscribe at any time.
Now, to new beginnings. This means more writing for me. There’s something about autumn days that brings out the words. Do you find that too? And with pumpkin spice latte’s already out there, I am feeling muy autumnal.
The image in my head speaks of a writing desk overlooking large leafy trees in all the autumn hues, dewy mornings, chunky handknit blankets, and steamy warm drinks. Did I mention a vintage typewriter and perhaps a candle or two flickering in dawn’s light? Yes, I’m romanticizing. But that’s just me. And I’m going to make it happen, even the vintage typewriter, though for decor only. 😁
I’m wishing you a beautiful September full of the creative things you want to do. What will that be for you? Are you feeling autumnal? What’s your writing fantasy space look like? Does the day after labour day carry any meaning for you? And what’s ending and beginning for you? Lots of questions, I know, but I’d love to hear and catch up with you.

Autumn is my favorite time of year so I hope to get outside more [now that the heat is behind us] and bake my little heart out: apple crisp or pumpkin bread, anyone? How about sweet potato pie?

While I’ll definitely miss summer, I’m excited for the new season. I’m always a little jealous of all the students getting to go back to school and learning new and exciting things. I miss those classroom days. Your romanticized writing space sounds just lovely. 🍂🍁

Thanks Rose. I’m excited for the new season as well, though I’m content not having to go off to school as a student. Now it’s all about informal learning on my own. Thanks for reading and appreciating my romanticized writing space.

I’m a fan of the warm weather but I must admit, the time between October and December is my favorite. I used to dread Septembers but not so any more. I’m in a great mood and looking forward to all the holidays to come!
