You’ve probably forgotten about Lemonade Days by now. My hopeful summer series where something sour is turned sweet. We are still stirring and sweetening the lemonade. Can you believe this is week 7. The time has passed so quickly, just like summer, which always seems like a blur. I hope you’re having a great one!
For those of you who join me on other platforms, we’ve come together on Instagram and Substack to discuss and enjoy the sweetness in many topics over the last few weeks of Lemonade Days, Inspiration, Transformation, Tiny Awakenings, Softness as Strength, etc.
You can catch up with my posts, linked below.
This week I’m talking about, Creativity. It’s a buzzword it seems, but that is for many reasons as we enter a new era of machines becoming the creator. Perhaps we are all more creative now because of that fear. Perhaps it is age and we want to leave behind a creative legacy. Perhaps it is because we know the world needs the creators now, more than ever.
Whatever the reason, there is a huge wave of human ingenuity moving the creative tide along, and with it comes both good and bad. Not all creativity is good.
Here’s a video I made some time ago discussing that thought:
So my questions for you this week:
- Do you see yourself as creative?
- What do you love creating the most?
- How do you determine if a creation is worthy?
- What is your reason for creating?

I enjoyed your video. There is beauty all around us, which hopefully inspires our creativity. I believe everyone has creative abilities, but some people are too frightened to express their creativity, fearing that others will think their work isn’t good.
I’m not very visually creative, but I used to write skits for my students to perform. Some of those were quite funny, and being a big ham, I enjoyed writing a part for myself. I enjoyed working with my students, which I hope, in turn, made them want to bring out their talents.

Thank you Pete! Yes, I agree, too many are too afraid to express their creativity. Yet we humans are very creative beings. Every one of us has the ability to create something. Whatever that is.
How fabulous that you wrote skits for your students. I’m certain that inspired them to expose themselves to their own creativity.
Thanks very much for reading and for sharing your lovely message.

Oh my goodness…I love this! I just replied to your kind comment on my recent post, highlighting what a fabulously creative one YOU are…and then saw this! Yes…that’s you! Inspiring so many of us! Love it!
Here are my off-the-cuff answers (sometimes the best kind!)
1. I aspire to creativity and the title/moniker of being a “creative”. Mostly it involves pushing myself!
2. I love creating home decor vignettes…it feels like stage setting for restorative time. Comfy seats and pleasing things to look at in our home. But you know…I love tinkering with words, too. And ideas!
3. Gah! Worthiness. Such a hard question. I’m learning to lean less on external feedback and embrace my own instincts about value. It opens up the perimeter for me – allowing many more things (of my own creation and many that are not) to shine.
4. This is know. Life is fleeting and I believe the older I become, the more I want to make some sort of mark for others to see. Bear witness to the fact that I…was…here…and persevered. Joyfully. Gratefully. Even though life can be burdensome and painful at times. Life IS good.
Love your stirring and sweetening, Alegria and your thoughtful leadership by example.

Thank you for your thoughtful responses Vicki. I love little home vignettes too. Especially cozy reading and writing corners, though I don’t use them as often as I should. I do see you as a creative person, very much so.
Thanks my friend for your lovely words and for all you shared here. It’s a blessing to know you! 💕
