It’s Tuesday, and on Tuesdays from March to October I would post a happiness prompt and affirmation to help shift your perspective and mine towards happiness, gratitude and ultimately joy.
If you’ve been here before then you may realize I haven’t made a Happiness Project post for over 3 months now. What happened to happiness? Well, time was not on my side as I navigated many ups and downs in this beautiful journey called life. And I also took some time for leisure, family and myself. I travelled a bit, did some reading, and of course, there’s the reality of life and work. And I love every minute of it, okay, almost every minute.
My sincere apologies on ditching the project. Making the videos took a fair amount of time and though I really enjoyed the creativity and the joy it brought you and I, it’s time to consolidate my efforts and energies and focus on what I really want to do here, spend time with you, spread some joy, and write. So…
each week we’ll continue with joy and happiness through writing. I’ll share something I found joy in during the week and if it resonates with you, you can share too! Kind of like a communal gratitude journal. There’s nothing like gratitude to lift you into joy. Of course, I’ll link back to your post, as I have before, if you leave the link in comments.
And it can be anything you choose, something your children did, a special place you travelled to, a book you read, a day you brewed a cup of Earl Grey and watched as the storm passed. It’s all up to you, whatever brings you joy.
We’ll call it Journey to Joy and I hope you’ll join me on this journey. You can expect a post each Saturday.
You see, nothing happened to happiness. It just elevated into joy and it’s there, always, depending on where and how you look.
Now tell me about something that brought you joy.

Love the intentionality of this post, project, and your time, Alegria! You create beautiful things wherever you go!
For my joy contribution, I was just sitting here reading your post and my 4-year-old son next to me looked up from what he was doing and said, “Mama, I love you!”

I knew you must have posted but it didn’t appear in my Reader. Life and its ups and downs, indeed! I hope it’s going well now. We’ve just finished Carnival season here and it’s all been extremely joyful. Time for a quieter week, I think!

Carnival season in Europe is always something to appreciate. Things will definitely be quieter now. As it is for me currently, fingers crossed for peace and quiet. Thanks for being here Jo. 💕

I put out bird feeders in the winter. Watching the different types of birds feed from them, and on the deck, and on the ground, and watching them flit about in the shrubbery – such a good word – brings me joy these days.

It’s great to see you posting again and it looks like a good idea to share happiness and joy with less extra work on your part. I’m afraid that I can’t share a lot of joy at the moment, but I was happy to see two hostages return to their families yesterday. Bitter sweet though…

Thanks very much Margie. It feels good to be back among friends and doing something creative. Always bittersweet when the hostages leave. I’m sure you’ll find something joyful to share soon enough.💕

There is a little family of blue wrens who live in the bushes near me. One of the bright blue males comes and sits on the door handle of my glass door and peers in. This brings me joy!

Thanks so much Steffi! It’s been a while I know. I haven’t been on Twitter X for a long time either. My apologies on being absent. I am well, just been far too busy for my own good. It is always great to see you here! Hugs 💕

No reason for apologies. We all need to live our lives in the best way for us. Good to know you are doing exactly that.
