Just down the road from Niagara Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders, is a beautiful botanical garden with 99 lush acres of flowers, plants, trees and plenty of open spaces to wander and relax. The Niagara Parks Botanical Garden truly is a secret wonder, because when we visited, there were only a handful of people in sight. We visited in early fall, so perhaps that’s part of the secret to a relaxing unhurried experience.

What a beautiful day it was. Autumn had just arrived and the sun was still warm. Clouds moved lazily in a blue sky and birds chirped us onward to explore the delights of this tranquil place. The air was fresh, and the scent of grass cuttings bathed the light breeze in its alluring fragrance.
Nestled along the Niagara Parkway this space is a joyful pleasure for those who love gardens and the peace and quiet of nature’s rhythms. As we walked along its tranquil paths we saw horticultural students tending to the gardens with care and joy. A short conversation with one of the students provided delightful insights to the place.

The School of Horticulture was built in 1936 and it is these students that tend the grounds and also surrounding areas along the Niagara Parkway.

The diversity of plant life is a joy to see and the formal rose garden that boasts over 2400 roses, takes considerable time and effort to care for, I’m certain. Every corner of the place has some joy to witness.

By the main entrance there is a shop and The Butterfly Cafe, so named due to the Butterfly Conservatory right next door. The cafe offers outdoor seating, which is a pleasure on sunny days.

Here’s a little thought provoking video which I filmed at the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. You’ll get to experience this beautiful wonder through my eyes and consider the little secret I reveal.
Let me know your thoughts when you do watch. I’d love to hear.
Good to know: Entry is complimentary, but parking is paid at the automated meter. If you visit Niagara often consider a Niagara Parks Annual Parking Pass and save the hassle of paying each time.
The Niagara Park Botanical Gardens is located at 2565 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Canada.

So true, but so easy for one to miss and dismiss as just harmless thoughts.

True our thoughts are powerful. I’ve seen firsthand how consistent negative thoughts can make one bitter, very disagreeable and even sick. Good video Alegria!

This reminded me of the Botanical Garden in the heart of Sydney – the entrance was complimentary and its contents were absolutely breathtaking. What a gem a place like this is.
“The Secret Garden” was one of my favorites. I’ve been wanting to re-read it for a while. Thanks for inspiring me to actually add it to my list.
As I read this post, I imagined you narrating it. It’s amazing how your voice ingrained itself in our brains.

Thank you so very much Sam! I appreciate your comments so very much. After your compliments on my voice, I’m beginning to think maybe it’s not so bad. 😄
I do love that book. It sits so differently reading it as an adult. It carries so much meaning in its simple message.
And yes, I love botanical gardens and all gardens really. Would love to visit the one in Sydney.
I am now reminded of the Boboli Gardens in Florence. I should do a post on it. It was a rainyish day, but still a joyful experience.
Thanks very much for reading and watching.
Should I make more YouTube videos you think? I have some ideas, but not sure if I should share thoughts like this one or just simply travel related videos. Would love your opinion.

I think videos are pretty popular. However, personally, I like to read when I’m browsing people’s blogs. Yours is a perfect balance for me – I can read your post and if I have some time – I can watch the videos. You do a good job tying the text to the videos (like mentioning the secret in this one or the mystery in the car in the woods video).
If you have ideas – go for it and see how it goes. You won’t know until you try.

It’s good to see flowers. This is the time of year I get antsy, waiting. The bulbs are almost up, and I know it’s too early to head out with my seeds, but I want to 😊

It sure is, maybe that’s why I’m looking back in my camera roll. 😆 Thanks for reading Em! Hope you’re doing well. Winter will be done soon and then let the gardening begin.

Nicely done! You have really captured some enduring thoughts and feelings here. Beautiful gardens which I sadly missed on my visit back in 2016.
