The Joy and Anxiety of Travel In Times of War

I’ve been on a wonderful trip half way around the globe from my home country of Canada. I have so much to share about all that I experienced, much of it quite joyful, some of it burdened with anxiety.

Beyond the everyday madness, there are wars being waged and corrupt governments making choices that have dire consequences for the common citizen, like you and I.

Within all this we still travel. Sometimes because we have to, and sometimes because we want to.

I actually left before the war in the Middle East began. My return however was burdened by frequently changing flight schedules and the anxiety that I was flying into a war zone to make my return home.

Modern day travel has many annoyances, but moving through a war zone is anxiety inducing. Here’s a post I wrote about what it feels like.
