Words swarm me, exploding like fireworks bright and brilliant, full of meaning. Their essence heavy on my chest. Waiting for a chance to reveal themselves. Waiting to dive deep beneath the dark blue surface.
For now, they wait. Held by responsibilities. Standing in a neat row. Protected and silent. Waiting for the door to burst open, so that they can come gushing out like Niagara Falls. Tumbling over in a torrent. Caught in a whirlpool, swirling, eager, crashing against granite.
Until they pass the tide pools, into calmer water and find their way to the ocean. For now, they wait.

Oh, the stories I have rattling around in my brain. My characters are a rowdy bunch, glad to know yours are civilized. 😊👍 Nicely done.

Mine aren’t all that civilized, but I’m working at it. 🙂

I wonder what else is in a queue trapped in our imagination, just waiting for the opportunity to break free. Nice story.

Dear Shelley,
I love how you took the line and made it about waiting for greater things just on the horizon. Wonderfully written.
